WELCOME TO "PC FISHelp"

YOUR FRIENDLY EXPERT PROGRAM IN FISHING TECHNOLOGY.

PLEASE READ EVERYTHING BELOW BEFORE DOWNLOADING FISHELP FILES

PC FISHelp IS A SET OF CALCULATORS THAT assist SKIPPERS, FISHERMEN, VESSEL OWNERS, FLEET MANAGERS, FISHING TECHNOLOGISTS, FISHERY CONSULTANTS, FISH FARMERS, and STUDENTS OF FISHERIES RELATED SUBJECTS, as well as NETMAKERS and GEAR MANUFACTURERS, OWNERS and OPERATORS of FISHING NETS AND GEAR STORES, SALESMEN, DISTRIBUTORS, etc.,

Solve problems related to fishing gear design, construction and operation, fishing vessels, propulsion and deck machinery systems, nets, netting, twines, ropes, etc. Analyze and compare each vessel's economic effectiveness; any trawlers' towing performance; and as well you can plan a new vessel; and recondition or convert existing ones.

You will find PC FISHelp exceptionally friendly. Apart from
this INTRODUCTION, relevant HELP and additional technical information are available from every main and secondary screen by pressing <Fl> .

To select an item from the main or the secondary menus and
pop-up "pick windows", move the cursor to the desired item and press <ENTER> or simply enter its first letter, if illuminated.

To move from field to field use <UP> and <DOWN>, <LEFT> and <RIGHT> arrows or <ENTER>.

<PgUp> & <PgDn> keys move the cursor from the top to the
bottom field on the screen and vice versa.
<ESC> returns you to the previous screen or menu.

To clear all values, but "total", press <F10>.

<F4> clears the "totals".

To leave FISHelp - go to the MAIN MENU and press "Q".

In some "pick windows", after entering the first letter of the desired item, you need to press <ENTER>.

Look for brief messages and instructions appearing at the
bottom line and elsewhere on the screen. You can find more
instruction and information in the PC FISHelp Manual and the attached Examples.

CONVERSIONS:

FISHelp contains an extensive CONVERSIONS facility (SPEED, CAPACITY/VOLUME, WEIGHT, AREA, TEMPERATURE, LENGTH, POWER and FORCE).

You can return to the Main Screen from all screens by pressing <F9> and 'return to the screen by pressing <ESC>.

If, while using one screen, you need to refer to another one,
just press <ESC>, locate the other screen, obtain the needed
ID data, and go back to the original screen which you'll find
with all your entries Intact.

NOTE that you'll find that in some cases FISHelp limits itself to small and medium-scale vessels and equipment, and that some of the screens or fields will respond only within certain ranges of parameters.

FISHelp tries to reduce the possibility of accepting input
that may produce impractical or absurd results.

Nonetheless, please, beware of entering illegal and otherwise inappropriate input combinations. Follow the messages and instructions of HELP <Fl> facilities on each of the individual screens. FISHelp issues a sound and an ERROR message whenever your input is out of range or illegal.

When in doubt - press <Fl>!
